Transfer from iTunes

You need to convert the WMA files into itunes. Right click a WMA file and click on 'open with' (it should show a list of conversions which itunes should be included). Unfortunately you can only do this one at a time (select one file and convert it instead of selecting multiple files and converting it) which can be a long and boring process. Got my iPod 60gb Video and loaded the iTunes package etc. Rather than 'converting' my existing 'My Music' folder (and me losing all my WMA folders) - I made a separate copy of 'My Music' folder, changed the iTunes settings to Apple IPod Lossless, and then dragged and dropped the 'New' 'My Music' folder into the iTunes library.

Click the “Add” button to start loading files you want to convert. Find and select the file or files you want to open and then click the “Open” button. Click “Convert/Save” to open up the next window.

If you have files in WMA format, you will be prompted to convert those WMA files to AAC. This is a necessary step if you want those tracks available to play on your iPod or iPhone.
